Relationships and Commitment

As we work with coffee communities, we commit to being the best partner we can be. We develop relationships with coffee coops committed to refining their processes and quality controls.  We work alongside these dedicated coffee farmers to export their coffees, providing access to global markets, improved methods, and better prices.

Our initial impact comes from our purchasing the coffee and socializing it across international markets. Our commitment to purchase generally creates positive momentum and trust. Getting involved socially usually happens as the relationship deepens. We look at where our involvement can provide value. We have built drying beds for farmers in one village.  In another community, our transactions with the local coffee coop motivated the local government to build new processing facilities for the whole village to use.  With a third co-op, we recently walked alongside their leadership to identify the cause of an unusual defect and to find appropriate solutions to address the situation.  And across the board, we are working to help the farmers raise a high bar of excellence in their quality standards, processing improvements, record-keeping, and consistency.

This chain of trust and excellence is comprised of the people and communities that have dedicated their lives to producing quality coffee.

We are proud to provide a bridge of communication, experience and trust between global markets.

Conservation, Sustainability, and Outstanding Coffee

Coffee Seedlings

One of our favorite origins thrives in the rich volcanic soil of an active volcano here on Sumatra. Here we find a truly special combination of amazing people dedicating their lives to producing remarkable coffee through sustainable practices and conservation.

Almost the entire population of this highland valley relies on agriculture for their family income. Because many locals don’t realize the benefits the intact rainforests provide, there have been frequent encroachment into the boundaries of the neighboring National Park.

Our coffee initiative is working to provide solutions to these conservation and sustainability issues. These farmers are trained in sustainable practices, provided quality seedlings, and commit to not grow their coffee within the National Park, verified by on-site visits. Over 600 smallholder farmers are currently involved, many already mapped by GPS.

We invite you to enjoy a cup of this remarkable coffee, knowing you have a part in supporting these farmers and saving this national park where the Sumatran tiger is still King of the Jungle! Contact us today for ordering information.
